Tailored workplace
Central to the success of Assurant's new head office was to provide a space that would cater to their workforce's early adoption of flexible working conditions. No employee has a permanent desk but rather than the traditional hotdesking arrangement this project utilises sophisticated booking and activation systems for each workspace.
"A work environment's success is limited if not fully engaged by the end users."
Extending beyond bookable desks staff have access to a wide range of working options from booth seating, communal tables and focus rooms. Combining these work options with a sunbathed social hub the design ensures the office is staff focused first and foremost.
Industrial chic
Complimenting the work methodology, the design aesthetic is intended to echo the casual nature of the work environment. Utilising the benefits of the existing base building's exposed services and lofted ceiling heights we played off the idea of the industrial studio ensuring the spaces, where possible, took full advantage of the inherent nature of the environment.
"The architectural space speaks to the client's values and vision."
Offsetting the open and industrial studio feel we inserted into the space extensive natural vegetation. This was utilised as feature design planting pieces as well as space and privacy dividers throughout the workspaces. Greenery is visible from all aspects of the office enhancing the quality of the internal environment.
Palette inspired by the earth
With a strong emphasise on the quality of the space for the staff through a user focused approach to work spaces, social interaction and nature, the design palette echoed this same methodology. The colour and finishes scheme took inspiration from natural tones in its use of soft earth toned neutrals, warm browns and lush greens.
The selected colour palette was complimented with feature furniture pieces selected to tone with and balance the palette. Timbers, terracotta's and green's feature extensively throughout the workspace.
